Useful Tips
- Try & start planning as early as possible (6 – 12 months out)
- Most Irish golf courses are Member Clubs, and will be busy with members at weekends, so it’s easier to secure green fees at clubs with more than 1 course.
- Euro is the currency used around the majority of the island of Ireland, with sterling (pounds) used in Northern Ireland (Fermanagh, Antrim, Tyrone, Derry, Armagh, Down).
- Caddies must be pre-booked.
- Carts are not available on all links courses. Some courses, particularly those with very uneven terrain, require Medical/Doctors Certs.
- Don’t take on too much – traveling and playing too many golf courses over a short trip can take away from the enjoyment!
- The climate in Ireland is very mild – while rain is always a possibility, it’s generally very pleasant during the Spring & Summer months, so light rain gear is fine.
- Most courses provide yardage books – these are a fantastic help, especially when it’s your first time playing the course.
